Who is online counselling for?
It suits people who are still coping but feel the effort it takes: pressure at work that follows you home, exam season, arguments that keep repeating, a loss, a move to a new city or country, or a stretch of worry and low mood. It also suits people who simply cannot fit a clinic visit into their week.
What happens in the sessions?
The first session is about understanding: what is going on, what you want to be different, and how the problem shows up on an ordinary day. From there the psychologist works with practical tools, including techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT): spotting the thought that sets off a feeling, testing it, and trying a different response. You also build coping strategies for the moments that are hardest.
Expect small tasks between sessions. They are where most of the change happens.
Video, voice or chat
Pick the format that lets you speak freely. Video is closest to sitting in a room together. Voice suits people who find the camera distracting or have a weak connection. Chat helps those who find it easier to write than to say things aloud. As part of NWNT's individual wellness programme, your progress is tracked over time so you and your psychologist can see whether things are moving.
From anywhere in India, and from abroad
Within India the psychologist is at Dr. Vohra's Emotional Wellness Hub, and you can switch to in-person sessions at its clinic in East Patel Nagar, New Delhi, at any point. Abroad, rules on who may offer counselling differ by country, so NWNT tells you plainly what is possible where you live before anything is booked.
When counselling is not enough
If the psychologist sees signs that need a medical opinion, such as a depression that is deepening or sleep that will not recover, they will suggest adding a psychiatrist. In India that happens within the same hub, so your history does not have to be told twice.
To begin, take the Stressometer or write to help@nwnt.ai. Session fees are shared before you book.
Frequently asked questions
- Does online counselling really work?
- For stress, anxiety and mild to moderate low mood, therapy by video has done about as well as face to face in research studies. What matters most is a private place to talk and keeping your sessions regular.
- Can I do this from outside India?
- Often, yes, but it depends on the rules in your country. Write to help@nwnt.ai with where you live and the team will tell you what is available.
- Is what I say kept private?
- Yes. Sessions are confidential, with the usual exceptions when someone's life is at risk or the law requires disclosure. The privacy policy explains how records are handled.
- Can NWNT help in an emergency?
- No. NWNT runs screening and planned care, not a crisis line. If someone is in immediate danger in India, call Tele-MANAS on 14416, the free government mental health helpline that answers round the clock, or 112 for emergency services. Outside India, call your local emergency number.
