Looking after yourself abroad
Life overseas brings its own load: visa uncertainty, long hours, distance from family, raising children between two cultures, and the guilt of not being there as parents age. Many NRIs find it hard to explain this to a counsellor who has never lived it.
The Stressometer gives you a clear picture in 10 to 15 minutes, wherever you are. Counselling with a psychologist at the hub, in English or Hindi, is available online where your country permits it. If you need a psychiatrist, one must be licensed where you live, and NWNT can help you work out what to look for.
Care for parents and family in India
The call that worries NRIs most is the one about a parent who has stopped eating, sleeps all day, has become suspicious or forgetful, or is drinking more since being widowed. From thousands of kilometres away it is hard to know how serious it is, or whom to trust.
Dr. Vohra's Emotional Wellness Hub, NWNT's clinical partner in New Delhi, can see your parent in person in East Patel Nagar or online at home anywhere in India. Psychiatrists assess and treat; psychologists offer counselling to your parent and to the relatives who care for them day to day.
Staying informed, with consent
Your parent is the patient, and their privacy matters. With their consent, the clinician can share updates with you, and you can join consultations by video from wherever you are. Families often find this the most useful part: hearing the plan directly, asking questions, and agreeing who in India will help with medicines and follow-ups.
Planning a visit home
If you are flying in, a consultation at the hub can be arranged around your stay so you can attend in person. The hub is at 29/24, East Patel Nagar, New Delhi 110008, a short walk from Patel Nagar metro station and roughly 45 minutes by taxi from Indira Gandhi International Airport, depending on traffic. Follow-ups can then continue online after you leave.
For employers of Indian teams abroad
Organisations with staff outside India can use the screening across their teams. NWNT helps them set up local psychology and psychiatry services in their country: onboarding, matching with licensed practitioners and ongoing management.
Frequently asked questions
- Can I book a consultation for my father in Delhi from abroad?
- Yes. Call or WhatsApp +91 78279 90371, or write to help@nwnt.ai. The team arranges a time, in person or online, and with your father's consent you can join by video.
- My mother lives outside Delhi. Can she still be seen?
- Yes. Psychiatric consultations and counselling can be done online anywhere in India, with a visit to New Delhi only if the psychiatrist feels it is needed.
- Will the doctor tell me everything about my parent's treatment?
- Only what your parent agrees to share. Most parents are happy for a son or daughter to be involved, and the clinician talks this through with them at the start.
